GVHBA launches its 16th annual Coats for Kids campaign on Monday, November 21. The public will be invited to drop off the apparel at participating members’ offices or sales centres from November 21 to December 9.

 

The public response last year was heartwarming, with more than 3,000 coats, scarves, gloves, mittens, blankets, toques and toys donated for distribution to families in need throughout the Greater Vancouver area by the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and other agencies. 

We took the team out golfing for our annual team building event, looks like everyone had a blast!

Blue Pacific Development will be receiving an Award of Excellence at the regular City Council meeting on February 14th 2011 for the  multi-family project that was completed with coverage from Pacific Home Warranty .  

Blue Pacific has also been certified for the highest level possible for Built Green Canada, "Platinum," for that project.

Movember

There are several unshaven members of the PHW team

 

wandering around office hallways these days, but it's all for a good cause.  They've taken up the Movember challenge and are growing a mustache during the month of November.  The term Movember comes from "Mo" (as in mustache) and November.  Funds raised will directly go towards fighting prostate cancer in Canada. Already Movember 2010 has raised $7.5 million to battle the number one cancer affecting men.  You can donate to the PHW team, dubbed the "Moformers" by clicking here.

Rob Turgeon of Edgerock Construction recently had his home featured in Island Times magazine. Rob was noted for his breakthrough eco-friendly technologies and use of BC timber. The pictures truly do speak for themselves!

H.S.T. Announcement

On July 1st the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will be eliminated. On that date, you’ll see the 7% B.C. rate join the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) to give us a total HST rate of 12%.. You might be wondering how this will affect your business partners and suppliers?

Pacific Home Warranty is happy to supply you with an updated HomePro Registration form for Site Built Single Warranty to ensure there is one less thing to worry about. The new HST will be applied to all registrations as of July 1, 2010. The new registrations forms can be found on the downloads page under HomeBuilder.

The Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA) Renovation Council invites the public to tour 17 professionally renovated homes in Burnaby, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Surrey, Tsawwassen, Vancouver, West Vancouver and White Rock on Sunday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 17th annual Parade of Renovated Homes showcases leading-edge design, advanced construction techniques, and innovative building products.
